Individual mentoring

PLEASE NOTE: I am not currently accepting new clients for ongoing mentoring. If you would like one-to-one advice on your writing I am still available for one-off Book Doctor appointments.

Mentoring is tailored to the individual writer, but can involve manuscript reviews, one-to-one tutorials, and support with goal setting. I work with clients who are writing novel-length fiction with a view to publication and take on mentoring clients at any stage of that process.

I only take a limited number of mentoring clients at any one time and it’s always subject to an initial discussion to identify what goals you would like to work towards, whether I feel I’m going to be able to help, and what timeframe you want to work over. Contact me to arrange your initial appointment.

Testimonials from individual mentoring clients:

‘I was completely stuck with the developmental editing of my novel when I hired Alison. On our first meeting she immediately made me feel calmer and reassured me that I could do it. Then, during phone calls over the following months, she helped me through the process by breaking it down into manageable tasks. Her insightful suggestions were excellent, and her sense of humour helped me keep my sanity through the whole process. She listened to what I was trying to achieve and I felt comfortable discussing everything with her. I can’t recommend her highly enough.’
