Developing Your Novel: From Idea to First Draft – The Almonry, Evesham. 5th October 2019, 10.30am-4.30pm
‘Developing your Novel: From idea to first draft’ is for anyone who has an idea for a novel they’d love to write, or a draft that’s lost its way, whether it’s your first, second, third or twenty-third novel. On this one-day course Alison will demystify plot structure, characterisation and setting, and introduce ways to motivate yourself to stick with your draft through the highs and lows of writing a novel.
Places on this workshop can be booked through Evesham Festival of Words.
You can contact me to join my mailing list for advance notice of future sessions. I also offer a range of ‘off the shelf’ courses on subjects from developing an initial idea to getting your novel published. If you run a writing group and would like to arrange a workshop for your group just get in touch.
I also run residential courses for developing novelists.
Comments from past students
“The event was tailored to the needs of the group, well structured and expertly delivered. We managed to cover a great deal in the time and there were a few light bulb moments for all of us. Alison is very engaging as a tutor and brought the theory to life with some fairy-tale examples that everyone could relate to. However, I will never look at Snow White the same again! Thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you.”
“Alison’s courses are friendly, supportive, and constructive. The exercises were great… highly recommended!”
“Alison’s courses encourage creativity and build confidence. These skills continue long after the course is complete. An excellent start for any writer.’
